Open position - Store associate

This is a part-time (18-25 hours/week), position that requires in-person availability on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, as well as some remote work on Wednesdays and/or Thursdays. The position involves performing administrative work, assisting during bridal appointments, and eventually serving as a bridal stylist.

Tasks and responsibilities 

​

The person in this position will have two types of responsibilities:

​

  • Administrative

    • ​Manage daily communications such as appointment scheduling; assist with website maintenance; engage in social media content creation; help with typical retail store tasks (such as tagging gowns and coordinating donations of gowns); help keep the store tidy and organized; and engage in similar activities as assigned

  • Styling

    • ​Assist with bridal and alterations appointments, with the aim of eventually assuming responsibility for some appointments

​

This is a good fit for you if...

  • You are:

    • punctual and dependable

    • friendly, approachable, and down to earth

    • empathetic and able to relate to people with very different backgrounds

  • You have strong communications skills, especially written communication

  • You have excellent customer service skills, and you can be unfailingly kind, patient, and professional with bridal clients and their families

  • You have facility with social media post creation (especially video) and are comfortable regularly appearing in video on our social media feed

  • You have an interest in and understanding of the issues we care about and causes we support (women’s rights, children's rights, and sustainable fashion)

  • You are willing to engage in the unglamorous tasks associated with working in a bridal shop, like maintaining the stock list (it's not just pretty dresses, y'all)

  • You are able to be a voice of ADIJ, and you share our values, including a strong commitment to inclusivity and sustainability

  • You have a basic understanding of bridal textiles and gown construction & alterations, or would love to learn
